Do You Like a Mystery? - Part 5
John 3:17
06/05/2026
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to
condemn the world, but in order that the world
might be saved through him. (ESV)
The story of the conversation between Nicodemus and Jesus
does not answer the question, ``How can God be One yet three
Persons? How can we worship the Trinity in Unity neither
confusing the persons nor dividing the substance?'' The mystery
remains.
Yet, this conversation explains the work of each person for
our salvation. The Father, who loves His creation, sent His Son
to redeem us from sin, death, and the power of the devil. The
Holy Spirit creates and sustains the faith, the trust, each
Christian has that Jesus' death and resurrection is for them.
``For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the
world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.''
Therefore the Church prays:
Almighty and everlasting God, You have given us grace
to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity by the
confession of a true faith and to worship the Unity in
the power of the Divine Majesty. Keep us steadfast in
this faith and defend us from all adversities; for You,
O Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, live and reign, one
God, now and forever.
We still study this mystery to learn more of God's love.
That is why you should join us each Sunday at Trinity Lutheran
Church at 9:00 a.m. to hear more about God's great love, grace,
and mercy.
God grant this for Jesus' sake. Amen.
