Holy Week - Part 3
Isaiah 62:11-12
04/01/2026
11 Behold, the LORD has proclaimed to the end of the
earth: Say to the daughter of Zion, ``Behold, your
salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him,
and his recompense before him.''
12 And they shall be called The Holy People, The
Redeemed of the LORD; and you shall be called
Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken. (ESV)
As we look at the Gospel accounts of Holy Week, the week
Jesus died, it seems that He did not go into the city on
Wednesday. Rather, He stayed in Bethany, where He and His
disciples were guests in the home of Lazarus, Mary, and Martha.
On this day, we read not only Luke's passion account, but
also from the prophet Isaiah.
Behold, the LORD has proclaimed to the end of the
earth: Say to the daughter of Zion, ``Behold, your
salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and
his recompense before him.'' And they shall be called
The Holy People, The Redeemed of the LORD; and you
shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.
Isaiah clearly spoke of the death and resurrection of the
Messiah for the redemption of all people. Therefore today the
Church prays:
Merciful and everlasting God, You did not spare Your
only Son but delivered Him up for us all to bear our
sins on the cross. Grant that our hearts may be so
fixed with steadfast faith in Him that we fear not the
power of sin, death, and the devil; through the same
Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
May our Lord grant you the peace which comes from faith in
Christ Jesus. Amen.
