Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Speck and the Log - Part 4\n Luke 6:41-42\n 07\/02\/2026\n\n\n 41 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's\n eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own\n eye?\n 42 How can you say to your brother, `Brother, let me\n take out the speck that is in your eye,' when you\n yourself do not see the log that is in your own\n eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your\n own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out\n the speck that is in your brother's eye. (ESV)\n\n This week we pray:\n O Lord, grant that the course of this world may be so\n peaceably ordered by Your governance that Your Church\n may joyfully serve You in all godly quietness.\n\n\n Such a prayer can only be answered as we turn from our\n selfish, prideful ways to seek the good of our neighbor. Such a\n change of heart comes from outside ourselves, for we cannot act\n with pure motives and desires without God's forgiveness.\n\n As we seek to right the wrongs of this world, we begin not\n by applying our standards to others, but applying God's standards\n to ourselves. Otherwise, we accuse those around us of the same\n sins we commit, asking them to change, calling wrath upon them,\n while excusing our own actions.\n\n Jesus instructed His followers:\n Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye,\n but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? How\n can you say to your brother, `Brother, let me take out\n the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do\n not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite,\n first take the log out of your own eye, and then you\n will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your\n brother's eye.\n\n\n May our Lord grant us wisdom to confess our sins, and to\n forgive those who we have sinned against.
