Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Light of Truth - Part 1\n John 16:16-18\n 04\/27\/2026\n\n\n 16 ``A little while, and you will see me no longer;\n and again a little while, and you will see me.''\n 17 So some of his disciples said to one another,\n ``What is this that he says to us, `A little\n while, and you will not see me, and again a little\n while, and you will see me'; and, `because I am\n going to the Father'?''\n 18 So they were saying, ``What does he mean by `a\n little while'? We do not know what he is talking\n about.'' (ESV)\n\n The Easter season lasts seven weeks. During the forty-nine\n days of Easter, we celebrate our Lord's resurrection from the\n dead, proving that His death overcame sin once and for all time.\n Yet, especially during the last several weeks of the Easter\n season, our readings prepare us for His departure, for His\n ascension where He sits at the right hand of the Father.\n\n ``A little while, and you will see me no longer; and\n again a little while, and you will see me.'' So some\n of his disciples said to one another, ``What is this\n that he says to us, `A little while, and you will not\n see me, and again a little while, and you will see me';\n and, `because I am going to the Father'?'' So they\n were saying, ``What does he mean by `a little while'?\n We do not know what he is talking about.''\n\n\n Jesus' disciples, just like every Christian today, were at\n the same time saints and sinners. As saints they believed Jesus\n and trusted Him. As sinners, they doubted, had misconceptions,\n or even accused Jesus, at times, of preaching falsely.\n\n Therefore the Church prays:\n Almighty God, You show those in error the light of Your\n truth so that they may return to the way of\n righteousness. Grant faithfulness to all who are\n admitted into the fellowship of Christ's Church that\n they may avoid whatever is contrary to their confession\n and follow all such things as are pleasing to You;\n through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and\n reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and\n forever.\n\n\n This week we will examine the Gospel lesson, Jesus' words\n while He and His disciples walked towards the Garden of\n Gethsemane and the prayer of the Church. May our Lord grant us\n grace that we may see the light of His truth which leads to life\n everlasting.
