Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Confessing Jesus - Part 3\n John 20:26-28\n 04\/15\/2026\n\n\n 26 Eight days later, his disciples were inside again,\n and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were\n locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said,\n ``Peace be with you.''\n 27 Then he said to Thomas, ``Put your finger here,\n and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place\n it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.''\n 28 Thomas answered him, ``My Lord and my God!''\n (ESV)\n\n Last Sunday the Church prayed:\n Almighty God, grant that we who have celebrated the\n Lord's resurrection may by Your grace confess in our\n life and conversation that Jesus is Lord and God.\n\n\n Yesterday we asked the question, ``How does this prayer\n relate to Thomas?''\n Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and\n Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked,\n Jesus came and stood among them and said, ``Peace be\n with you.'' Then he said to Thomas, ``Put your finger\n here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and\n place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.''\n Thomas answered him, ``My Lord and my God!''\n\n\n Because we are born in sin, each one of us needs convincing\n of the truth that Jesus Christ died and rose again for our\n salvation. For Thomas it was touching Jesus. As he realized the\n truth that Jesus is risen from the dead, he confessed his faith,\n calling Jesus ``My Lord and my God.'' Faith confesses Christ\n Jesus, just as the prayer of the day asks God to enable us to do.\n\n We confess our faith in thought, word, and deed. As we look\n to Christ Jesus for our redemption from sin and eternal death, we\n also become more aware of the needs of our neighbors. Our\n desires turn from our selfishness to the good of others.\n\n May our Lord grant us faith which confesses Jesus as Lord\n and God.
