Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Holy Week - Part 5\n John 19:28-30\n 04\/03\/2026\n\n\n 28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now\n finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), ``I\n thirst.''\n 29 A jar full of sour wine stood there, so they put a\n sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch\n and held it to his mouth.\n 30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said,\n ``It is finished,'' and he bowed his head and gave\n up his spirit. (ESV)\n\n Today is both the darkest and the most important day in\n human history. Jesus the Christ, true God and true man, died\n upon the cross to pay the price of your sins and mine. The\n promise made to Adam and Eve on the day they sinned is fulfilled\n by the agony of our Savior.\n\n After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished,\n said (to fulfill the Scripture), ``I thirst.'' When Jesus had received the sour wine, he\n said, ``It is finished,'' and he bowed his head and\n gave up his spirit.\n\n\n Once and for all time our Lord was sacrificed to redeem\n sinners. In His death is our life. He who knew no sin became\n sin for us that we might be redeemed from eternal death.\n\n Some larger parishes may have a worship service from noon to\n three, the hours of darkness. Others, like Trinity, will gather\n in the evening to ponder this gift of love.
