Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Holy Week - Part 2\n Matthew 23:37-39\n 03\/31\/2026\n\n\n 37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the\n prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How\n often would I have gathered your children together\n as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and\n you would not!\n 38 See, your house is left to you desolate.\n 39 For I tell you, you will not see me again, until\n you say, ``Blessed is he who comes in the name of\n the Lord.'' (ESV)\n\n We believe, teach, and confess that Jesus died and rose\n again to pay the price of all sin for all people for all time.\n Why, then, are many people condemned? It is not that God desires\n their eternal death, but that they have rejected the message of\n salvation by grace through faith for the sake of Christ.\n\n On Tuesday of the week Jesus died He and His disciples\n visited the Temple in Jerusalem. While there, Jesus lamented\n over the the city, expressing His frustration that the message of\n God's mercy was rejected.\n\n O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the\n prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often\n would I have gathered your children together as a hen\n gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not!\n See, your house is left to you desolate. For I tell\n you, you will not see me again, until you say,\n ``Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.''\n\n\n Within forty years the city would be in ruins, destroyed by\n the Romans.\n\n Today the Church prays for those who do not yet know the\n peace of God which comes from the forgiveness of sins. We hope\n that this message of peace reaches those who otherwise have no\n lasting hope.\n\n Almighty and everlasting God, grant us by Your grace so\n to pass through this holy time of our Lord's passion\n that we may obtain the forgiveness of our sins; through\n Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns\n with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.\n\n\n May our Lord grant us grace to accept His gift of love with\n thanksgiving.
