Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Judge Me, O God - Part 3\n John 8:48-50\n 03\/25\/2026\n\n\n 48 The Jews answered him, ``Are we not right in\n saying that you are a Samaritan and have a\n demon?''\n 49 Jesus answered, ``I do not have a demon, but I\n honor my Father, and you dishonor me.\n 50 Yet I do not seek my own glory; there is One who\n seeks it, and he is the judge.'' (ESV)\n\n Last Sunday we prayed:\n Almighty God, by Your great goodness mercifully look\n upon Your people that we may be governed and preserved\n evermore in body and soul.\n\n\n As we pray, we are confessing certain beliefs. First, we\n confess that the goal of the Christian Church is not morality and\n good works, but the forgiveness of our sins which leads to life\n everlasting. Good works are an outgrowth of our faith in Christ\n Jesus as our Redeemer. Because we are judged and declared\n righteous in His sight, we forgive those who sin against us.\n\n Second, we confess that we, of our own reason or strength,\n cannot life a God pleasing life. Only as we are forgiven, only\n as the Holy Spirit draws our focus from our own selfish desires\n to put our eyes on God's mercy, do we begin to desire to love our\n neighbors as ourselves.\n\n Those people who do not want to hear the truth often begin\n by attacking the messenger. They attack the credibility of the\n person, not the credibility of the message. It was true in\n Jesus' day, it is true today.\n\n The Jews answered him, ``Are we not right in saying\n that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?'' Jesus\n answered, ``I do not have a demon, but I honor my\n Father, and you dishonor me.
