Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Two Questions - Part 5\n Matthew 22:41-46\n 10\/24\/2025\n\n 41 Now while the Pharisees were gathered together,\n Jesus asked them a question,\n 42 saying, ``What do you think about the Christ?\n Whose son is he?'' They said to him, ``The son of\n David.''\n 43 He said to them, ``How is it then that David, in\n the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying,\n 44 `The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand,\n until I put your enemies under your feet?'\n 45 If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?''\n 46 And no one was able to answer him a word, nor from\n that day did anyone dare to ask him any more\n questions. (ESV)\n\n This week we have looked at two questions which were posed\n on the Monday before Jesus was crucified. A Pharisee asked\n Jesus, ``Teacher, what is the great commandment in the Law?'' In\n answer, Jesus summarized the Law as loving God and neighbor.\n\n Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus\n asked them a question, saying, ``What do you think\n about the Christ? Whose son is he?'' They said to him,\n ``The son of David.'' He said to them, ``How is it\n then that David, in the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying,\n `The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until\n I put your enemies under your feet?' If then David\n calls him Lord, how is he his son?'' And no one was\n able to answer him a word, nor from that day did anyone\n dare to ask him any more questions.\n\n\n This Sunday, and every Sunday, we explore these two\n questions at Trinity Lutheran Church. We may not ask them\n directly, but we know we have not kept God's Law, and confess\n that only Jesus as true God and true man could redeem us from the\n guilt and curse of the Law.\n\n Each Sunday a 9:00 a.m. we confess that the entire Bible is\n the inspired Word of God, given to us for our learning and our\n eternal life. We pray for those who, out of a lack of faith,\n cannot answer the question, ``Who is Jesus?'' At the same time,\n we implore our heavenly Father for a greater understanding of His\n grace, love, and mercy. Please join us in this quest to know\n more about our Savior, to love God above all things and our\n neighbor as ourselves.\n\n May our Lord grant us faith and wisdom to hear His holy\n Word.
