Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Two Questions - Part 4\n Matthew 22:41-46\n 10\/23\/2025\n\n 41 Now while the Pharisees were gathered together,\n Jesus asked them a question,\n 42 saying, ``What do you think about the Christ?\n Whose son is he?'' They said to him, ``The son of\n David.''\n 43 He said to them, ``How is it then that David, in\n the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying,\n 44 `The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand,\n until I put your enemies under your feet?'\n 45 If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?''\n 46 And no one was able to answer him a word, nor from\n that day did anyone dare to ask him any more\n questions. (ESV)\n\n By the time Jesus entered into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, the\n rulers of the Temple had decided that He should be put to death.\n On Monday of Holy Week, both the Sadducees and Pharisees debated\n Him so to find a reason to carry out this plan.\n\n Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus\n asked them a question, saying, ``What do you think\n about the Christ? Whose son is he?'' They said to him,\n ``The son of David.'' He said to them, ``How is it\n then that David, in the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying,\n `The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until\n I put your enemies under your feet?' If then David\n calls him Lord, how is he his son?'' And no one was\n able to answer him a word, nor from that day did anyone\n dare to ask him any more questions.\n\n\n Who is the Christ? The answer the Pharisees would not or\n could not confess is that the Christ, the Messiah is both true\n man, descended from King David, and true God.\n\n Is Jesus the Christ, the Messiah? Only as a true man could\n Jesus die in our place to pay the price of our sin. Only as true\n God could He keep the Law perfectly, loving God above all things\n and His neighbor as Himself.\n\n Only as we have faith in Jesus as the Christ can we truly\n confess Him as our Redeemer from sin and death. Only as we have\n faith in Jesus as the Christ can we truly confess that His is\n both true man and true God, incarnate for our salvation.\n\n May our Lord grant us faith which answers the question,\n ``Who is Jesus?''
