Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Seek First - Part 2\n Matthew 6:25\n 09\/30\/2025\n\n 25 Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your\n life, what you will eat or what you will drink,\n nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not\n life more than food, and the body more than\n clothing? (ESV)\n\n Jesus told His disciples that they could not serve both God\n and money. Each person must set priorities to determine how to\n use their resources of time, talents, and treasures. We either\n consider God as most important, or we consider something created\n as most important.\n\n In 1943, Abraham Maslow, an American psychologist, discussed\n a hierarchy of needs as the way of understanding human\n motivation. The concept is simple in practice. You can't be\n worried about self-actualization and creativity when you are\n unable to breathe. If your basic survival needs are not met, if\n you don't have air and food and shelter nothing else really\n matters.\n\n We spend our time looking for those things we need to\n support this life. Often we will obsess over that which we do\n not have, that which seems necessary to support this life. We\n work harder, we scheme, we plot, we do all we can to obtain that\n thing which is missing.\n\n Jesus spoke of this truth. ``Therefore I tell you, do not\n be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will\n drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life\n more than food, and the body more than clothing?''\n\n Unlike many people who give such advise, Jesus gives us a\n reason why we should not be anxious, why we should not worry\n about the basic needs of food, shelter, and clothing. As we will\n see, He brings us back to God's creating power, God's love, and\n faith.\n\n May our Lord open our eyes to see His rich blessings, and\n our hearts to trust fully in Him.
