Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Cured - Part 5\n Luke 17:19\n 09\/26\/2025\n\n 19 And he said to him, ``Rise and go your way; your\n faith has made you well.'' (ESV)\n\n While Jesus was traveling to Jerusalem, ten lepers cried out\n to Him for mercy, for healing from their dread disease. While\n they followed Jesus' instruction to show themselves to the\n priests, they were cured. Only one, a Samaritan, returned to\n give thanks to Jesus.\n\n This thankful Samaritan fell at Jesus' feet, worshiping Him\n as God, recognizing Him as the Messiah. Only God could cure the\n physical leprosy, and the Samaritan recognized that this cure was\n something done by grace and mercy alone.\n\n Our salvation from sin, death, and the power of the devil is\n by grace alone, God's undeserved and all redeeming love. We\n confess that we are the living dead, that we deserve eternal\n punishment. What we receive is complete pardon, a complete\n remission of our sin, and the heavenly declaration that we are\n holy and pure in God's sight.\n\n No wonder this story of the thankful Samaritan is much more\n than recounting God's power over disease, the miracle of healing\n by Jesus as He walked this earth. It is the story of our\n redemption from sin and death, the story of God's mercy, the\n story which causes us to raise our voices in praise and honor of\n God. It is the story of faith which trusts in God's Word, and\n trusts only in Him.\n\n Each Sunday our Lord invites us into His presence to receive\n this heavenly cure from sin and death. Because we have received\n His good gift of forgiveness, we respond in praise and\n thanksgiving. Please join us this Sunday at Trinity to hear of\n our Savior's love for you, and the gift which is given because of\n His grace.\n\n May our Lord bless you with the desire to return to give\n thanks, to hear ``Your faith has made you well.''
