Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Cured - Part 3\n Luke 17:14\n 09\/24\/2025\n\n 14 When he saw them he said to them, ``Go and show\n yourselves to the priests.'' And as they went\n they were cleansed. (ESV)\n\n Jesus was traveling from Galilee to Jerusalem along the\n border of Samaria. This was His final journey. He soon would\n enter into Jerusalem to the shouts of the crowds and the waving\n of palm branches. There He would die to pay the price of sin for\n all people, to be the cure for everlasting death.\n\n Ten lepers, recognizing Him as the one who had cured others\n of their diseases, cried out, ``Jesus, Master, have mercy on\n us.'' ``When he saw them he said to them, `Go and show\n yourselves to the priests.' And as they went they were\n cleansed.''\n\n The lepers recognized that they were condemned, considered\n already dead by society. They also knew they could not cure\n themselves, that nothing they did would cure the physical stain.\n Seeing Jesus, they knew He was their only hope. As they followed\n His command, the lepers were cured.\n\n As sinners, we recognize that we cannot pay the price of our\n own sin. The damage we have done to our families, our neighbors,\n and ourselves cannot be undone. Our only hope for a cure is the\n mercy of God, to have Him remove the sin which otherwise condemns\n us forever. As we trust in Christ Jesus, our Lord, we are cured.\n\n This is the direct parallel between leprosy and our own sin.\n Saint John reminds us, ``If we confess our sins, he is faithful\n and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all\n unrighteousness.''[1]\n\n May our Lord grant us faith to see Jesus as our Redeemer\n from sin and death.
