Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Mercy - Part 5\n Luke 6:41-42\n 07\/18\/2025\n\n\n 41 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's\n eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own\n eye?\n 42 How can you say to your brother, ``Brother, let me\n take out the speck that is in your eye,'' when you\n yourself do not see the log that is in your own\n eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your\n own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out\n the speck that is in your brother's eye. (ESV)\n\n We show love and concern for each other. Sometimes we are\n called upon to acknowledge the sin and harmful behavior of our\n neighbor. Do we do so with arrogant pride and self-\n righteousness? Or do we do so humbly, first confessing our sin,\n first acknowledging that we also need someone to point out our\n sins?\n\n Saint Luke recorded Jesus' words:\n Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye,\n but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? How\n can you say to your brother, ``Brother, let me take out\n the speck that is in your eye,'' when you yourself do\n not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite,\n first take the log out of your own eye, and then you\n will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your\n brother's eye.\n\n\n We certainly are called by God to help and serve each other.\n Sometimes that includes a difficult conversation that seeks to\n correct a problem, that seeks to avoid harm due to sinful\n behavior.
