Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Holy Week - Maundy Thursday\n Matthew 26:26-29\n 04\/17\/2025\n\n\n 26 Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and\n after blessing it broke it and gave it to the\n disciples, and said, ``Take, eat; this is my\n body.''\n 27 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he\n gave it to them, saying, ``Drink of it, all of\n you,\n 18 for this is my blood of the covenant, which is\n poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.\n 29 I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of\n the vine until that day when I drink it new with\n you in my Father's kingdom.'' (ESV)\n\n This evening at 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, you\n have the opportunity to hear some of the events of the Thursday\n of Holy Week. Jesus and His disciples celebrated the Passover,\n during which Jesus gave the Church the Lord's Supper.\n Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after\n blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and\n said, ``Take, eat; this is my body.'' And he took a\n cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them,\n saying, ``Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood\n of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the\n forgiveness of sins. I tell you I will not drink again\n of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink\n it new with you in my Father's kingdom.''\n\n\n After supper, while Jesus was praying in the Garden of\n Gethsemane, Judas Iscariot led a group sent by the chief priests\n and elders to arrest Jesus. The remaining disciples scattered in\n fear.\n\n Sometime during the night, Peter denied knowing Jesus. Our\n Lord endured several mock trials before the chief priests, the\n Sanhedrin, Pontius Pilate, and Herod. He remained silent.\n\n Jesus endured the scourging, the humiliation, the lies, the\n betrayal, the denial, and the abandonment as foretold by the\n prophets.
