Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Holy Week - Palm Sunday\n Matthew 21:7-9\n 04\/14\/2025\n\n\n 7 They brought the donkey and the colt and put on\n them their cloaks, and he sat on them.\n 8 Most of the crowd spread their cloaks on the road,\n and others cut branches from the trees and spread\n them on the road.\n 9 And the crowds that went before him and that\n followed him were shouting, ``Hosanna to the Son\n of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of\n the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!'' (ESV)\n\n What started in early December, the celebration of the\n coming of Jesus Christ to redeem each person from sin, death, and\n the power of the devil, comes to an end this week. The Church\n traditionally hears of Jesus coming into Jerusalem on the First\n Sunday in Advent. Yesterday, the last Sunday in Lent, our\n processional Gospel was the account of our Lord's triumphant\n entry.\n\n Matthew recorded that Jesus asked two disciples to obtain a\n young donkey from the town of Bethphage.\n They brought the donkey and the colt and put on them\n their cloaks, and he sat on them. Most of the crowd\n spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut\n branches from the trees and spread them on the road.\n And the crowds that went before him and that followed\n him were shouting, ``Hosanna to the Son of David!\n Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!\n Hosanna in the highest!''\n\n\n The crowds acknowledged Jesus as the ``Son of David,'' a\n title for the promised Messiah. They prayed to Him, ``Save us,\n we pray, O LORD! O LORD, we pray, give us success!''[1] the\n words of the Psalmist. ``Hosanna!''\n\n Jesus, who wept over Jerusalem[2] while riding into the\n city, came to fulfill that prayer. Although He would be rejected\n by the Chief Priests, the scribes, and Pharisees and the rulers\n of the Temple, Christ desired that they also come to the\n knowledge of the truth.\n\n May our Lord bless you this Holy Week as we follow Jesus\n during the last week before His crucifixion.
