Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Worldview - Part 5\n John 8:56-58\n 04\/11\/2025\n\n\n 56 ``Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see\n my day. He saw it and was glad.''\n 57 So the Jews said to him, ``You are not yet fifty\n years old, and have you seen Abraham?''\n 58 Jesus said to them, ``Truly, truly, I say to you,\n before Abraham was, I am.'' (ESV)\n\n Our senses are constantly bombarded with input, sounds and\n sights and tastes and sensations which we cannot properly\n process. Most of what our senses perceive is filtered out as\n unimportant. Our worldview does the same filtering on that which\n we read or are told. ``That can't be true,'' we say because of\n our worldview.\n\n Jesus was debating with the rulers of the Temple.\n ``Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see my\n day. He saw it and was glad.'' So the Jews said to\n him, ``You are not yet fifty years old, and have you\n seen Abraham?'' Jesus said to them, ``Truly, truly, I\n say to you, before Abraham was, I am.''\n\n\n Did Abraham rejoice only because he trusted in God's\n promises? If Jesus is who He claims to be, and if the God of\n Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is indeed the God of the living, then\n Abraham saw Jesus come down to earth to redeem all people from\n sin and death.\n\n In Exodus, God revealed His name to Moses, ``I Am Who I\n Am.''[1] When Jesus said, ``before Abraham was, I am,'' He\n claimed to be the God who spoke to the Patriarchs, the God\n through whom all was created.\n\n Our worldview at Trinity Lutheran Church says that the Bible\n is true, that Jesus is the Son of God, and that He suffered,\n died, and rose again to deliver us from sin and death.
