Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Lent: Seeing Jesus - Part 2\n Luke 18:31\n 03\/04\/2025\n\n\n 31 And taking the twelve, he said to them, ``See, we\n are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is\n written about the Son of Man by the prophets will\n be accomplished.'' (ESV)\n\n While on His final journey to Jerusalem, Jesus continued to\n teach His disciples.\n And taking the twelve, he said to them, ``See, we are\n going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written\n about the Son of Man by the prophets will be\n accomplished.''\n\n\n We believe, teach, and confess that the Bible, the prophetic\n words of the Old Testament and the apostolic writings of the New\n Testament, are the inspired and inerrant Word of God. Therefore,\n what was written millenia before the birth of Jesus still stands\n as true, as a witness to that which we need in order to have\n faith in God's promise of the forgiveness of sins and life\n everlasting.\n\n Jesus said, ``everything that is written about the Son of\n Man.'' Unless God clearly says, ``This no longer applies because\n the purpose has been fulfilled,'' that which was written still is\n in force. The daily sacrifices in the Temple pointed to the\n sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, so we no longer need to\n slaughter lambs or bulls for a burnt offering. The dietary laws\n which set the children of Israel apart from the gentiles were\n abolished by Jesus as recorded in Mark's Gospel, and as recorded\n by Luke in Acts.\n\n Therefore, the work of salvation was foretold and explained.\n Jesus points us to the Old Testament to see why and how He\n fulfilled that which was foretold.
