Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Healing - Part 2\n Matthew 8:2-4\n 01\/28\/2025\n\n\n 2 And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before\n him, saying, ``Lord, if you will, you can make me\n clean.''\n 3 And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him,\n saying, ``I will; be clean.'' And immediately his\n leprosy was cleansed.\n 4 And Jesus said to him, ``See that you say nothing\n to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and\n offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a proof\n to them.'' (ESV)\n\n And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him,\n saying, ``Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.''\n And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him,\n saying, ``I will; be clean.'' And immediately his\n leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus said to him, ``See\n that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself\n to the priest and offer the gift that Moses commanded,\n for a proof to them.''\n\n\n Jesus had healed a leper, proving that He has the restoring\n power like our heavenly Father. Why, then, did Jesus give a two-\n part instruction to the man He cured of this loathsome skin\n disease?\n\n This healing miracle took place early in Jesus' ministry at\n a time when large crowds or disruption by the religious\n authorities would make difficult the teaching of His disciples.\n Later, Jesus could not even go into the wilderness without large\n crowds demanding that He teach, that He cure the sick, that He\n perform miracles such as feeding large crowds.\n\n Jesus did not come to abolish the Law but to fulfill the\n Law. As such, the laws concerning contagious skin diseases were\n as much to protect people as to serve as an example of our sin.\n Thus Jesus had every reason to uphold the Levitical laws\n concerning leprosy and other skin diseases. As Jesus fulfilled\n the Law, He left the moral law in place to show us our need for a\n Savior.
