Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Epiphany - Part 2\n Matthew 2:3-6\n 01\/07\/2025\n\n\n 3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled,\n and all Jerusalem with him;\n 4 and assembling all the chief priests and scribes\n of the people, he inquired of them where the\n Christ was to be born.\n 5 They told him, ``In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it\n is written by the prophet:\n 6 `And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are\n by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for\n from you shall come a ruler who will shepherd my\n people Israel.''' (ESV)\n\n Yesterday, the Feast of the Epiphany, we began the story of\n the Magi who sought Jesus. Where else would you go to seek the\n King of the Jews but the capitol city, Jerusalem? That is where\n the Wise Men asked, ``Where is He who is born the King of the\n Jews?\"\n When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and\n all Jerusalem with him; and assembling all the chief\n priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them\n where the Christ was to be born. They told him, ``In\n Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the\n prophet: `And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,\n are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for\n from you shall come a ruler who will shepherd my people\n Israel.'''\n\n\n The prophet Micah had clearly foretold the birth of the one\n for whom the Wise Men were seeking. For years the chief priests\n and scribes had known this prophecy, which had now come true.\n\n We also can trust the Word of God to show us the truth where\n we find our Savior, Jesus Christ. Only the Bible tells us of\n God's rich grace, love, and mercy.\n\n May our Lord grant that you find the Redeemer as you hear\n His Word.
