Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Messenger - Part 2\n Malachi 4:2-3\n 12\/10\/2024\n\n\n 2 But for you who fear my name, the sun of\n righteousness shall rise with healing in its\n wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from\n the stall.\n 3 And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will\n be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day\n when I act, says the LORD of hosts. (ESV)\n\n The message of the Old Testament prophets and the New\n Testament apostles is consistent. Turn from your sin, turn from\n your selfish desires, and look to your Creator. Stop trusting in\n those things which perish, and hold firmly to the God who made\n heaven and earth, who longs to redeem you from the condemnation\n which is the just punishment of our transgressions.\n\n Malachi, the messenger of God, spoke of the fate of the\n arrogant and evildoers who will be destroyed. He also speaks of\n the blessings for those who trust in God, who recognize that\n Jesus Christ is their only hope for eternal life.\n\n But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness\n shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out\n leaping like calves from the stall. And you shall\n tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the\n soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the\n LORD of hosts.\n\n\n The ``sun of righteousness'' which Malachi promises is none\n other than Jesus. Our Christmas hymn, ``Hark! The Herald Angel\n Sings,'' uses this title for the infant. Even the Epiphany\n season has the theme that Jesus Christ is the Light of the World,\n the Light no darkness can overcome. Those who trust in God are\n truly healed from the guilt of their sin, from the fear of\n eternal death. They are freed from the condemnation of the Law,\n redeemed by the blood of Christ. Even in the midst of trials\n they find the joy of knowing God's presence, especially as we\n hear His Word and partake of the Sacraments. We look forward to\n the day when our Lord comes to restore His creation, to show\n Himself as the Sun of Righteousness. Until that day, we call\n upon Him in prayer, we praise His holy name, and give thanks for\n His great mercy.\n\n May you find comfort and hope in the words of God's\n messenger.
