Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Righteous Branch - Part 5\n Jeremiah 23:5-8\n 12\/06\/2024\n\n\n 5 ``Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD,\n when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch,\n and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and\n shall execute justice and righteousness in the\n land.\n 6 In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will\n dwell securely. And this is the name by which he\n will be called: The LORD is our righteousness.''\n 7 ``Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares\n the LORD, when they shall no longer say, `As the\n LORD lives who brought up the people of Israel out\n of the land of Egypt,'\n 8 but `As the LORD lives who brought up and led the\n offspring of the house of Israel out of the north\n country and out of all the countries where he had\n driven them.' Then they shall dwell in their own\n land.'' (ESV)\n\n The prophet Jeremiah wrote:\n ``Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when\n I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he\n shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute\n justice and righteousness in the land. In his days\n Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely.\n And this is the name by which he will be called: The\n LORD is our righteousness.''\n\n ``Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the\n LORD, when they shall no longer say, `As the LORD lives\n who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of\n Egypt,' but `As the LORD lives who brought up and led\n the offspring of the house of Israel out of the north\n country and out of all the countries where he had\n driven them.' Then they shall dwell in their own\n land.''\n\n\n Here we have Jeremiah's warning to the people who had\n rejected the LORD God that the city of Jerusalem would be\n destroyed and the people taken captive. Yet God, who is gracious\n and merciful, who desires that all people be saved and come to\n the knowledge of the truth, sent His Son to pay the price of our\n sin and to declare us righteous.\n\n The word of the LORD spoken through Jeremiah came true. God\n disciplined those who had rejected Him, yet showed His mercy and\n desire to forgive.
