Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Jacob's Ladder - Part 5\n Genesis 28:16-17\n 10\/11\/2024\n\n\n 16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, ``Surely\n the LORD is in this place, and I did not know\n it.''\n 17 And he was afraid and said, ``How awesome is this\n place! This is none other than the house of God,\n and this is the gate of heaven.'' (ESV)\n\n On Monday we quoted an old Spiritual about Jacob's Ladder.\n The theology of the first verse did not bring the comfort which\n Jacob received from God's rich promises of presence, protection,\n and forgiveness. But Jacob did respond to God's love, to the\n vision which brought him hope.\n Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, ``Surely the\n LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.'' And he\n was afraid and said, ``How awesome is this place! This\n is none other than the house of God, and this is the\n gate of heaven.''\n\n\n The last verse of the Spiritual gives the same response.\n Rise, shine,give God glory,\n Rise, shine, give God glory,\n Rise, shine, give God glory,\n Soldiers of the cross.[1]\n\n\n God invites us into His presence each Sunday morning at 9:00\n a.m. when the members of Trinity Lutheran Church are gathered to\n hear of God's love and to respond is song and acts of mercy.\n Please join us to receive the same hope which Jacob had, that God\n will be with you to comfort you and protect you, until His angels\n ascend with you to the gates of heaven.
