Redeeming Israel -- Part 3\n Isaiah 29:20-21\n 08\/21\/2024\n\n\n 20 For the ruthless shall come to nothing and the\n scoffer cease, and all who watch to do evil shall\n be cut off,\n 21 who by a word make a man out to be an offender,\n and lay a snare for him who reproves in the gate,\n and with an empty plea turn aside him who is in\n the right. (ESV)\n\n Both those who persecute the faithful, and those who\n proclaim false doctrine as the truth of God's Word will come to\n ruin. Isaiah spoke of the coming judgment, when the Messiah,\n Jesus, returns to judge both the living and the dead.\n For the ruthless shall come to nothing and the scoffer\n cease, and all who watch to do evil shall be cut off,\n who by a word make a man out to be an offender, and lay\n a snare for him who reproves in the gate, and with an\n empty plea turn aside him who is in the right.\n\n\n Where Jesus promises that those who are humble, those who\n confess that they have sinned, those who acknowledge that they\n cannot save themselves, will be redeemed from death and\n condemnation, the ones who reject Him have no hope. Ruthless\n people serve themselves at the detriment of others. Scoffers\n deny the truth of God's Word, even actively working against the\n truth that Jesus came to save sinners.\n\n Does God desire for those who reject Him to be condemned?\n No, He sent Jesus Christ to pay the price of sin for all people\n of all time.
