Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Warning -- Part 1\n Jeremiah 8:4-6\n 08\/05\/2024\n\n\n 4 You shall say to them, Thus says the LORD: When\n men fall, do they not rise again? If one turns\n away, does he not return?\n 5 Why then has this people turned away in perpetual\n backsliding? They hold fast to deceit; they\n refuse to return.\n 6 I have paid attention and listened, but they have\n not spoken rightly; no man relents of his evil,\n saying, What have I done? Everyone turns to his\n own course, like a horse plunging headlong into\n battle. (ESV)\n\n There are surprising parallels between the Old Testament\n nation of Judah and the United States. Before Judah spent\n seventy years in Babylonian captivity, the prophet Jeremiah was\n sent by God to warn the people of the consequence of their\n rejection of the truth. God commanded Jeremiah:\n You shall say to them, Thus says the LORD: When men\n fall, do they not rise again? If one turns away, does\n he not return? Why then has this people turned away in\n perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit; they\n refuse to return. I have paid attention and listened,\n but they have not spoken rightly; no man relents of his\n evil, saying, What have I done? Everyone turns to his\n own course, like a horse plunging headlong into battle.\n\n\n This warning is for all people who reject the Word of God.\n We daily see the result of the decrease in religion as there is\n more violence, including an assassination attempt on a\n presidential candidate, rise in LGBTQ affiliations, an increase\n in out of marriage births, and millions of children murdered in\n the womb. Yet, as a nation, we do not repent and turn to God but\n turn away from Him.\n\n How long can we last as a nation as we deny that which not\n only brings the comfort of the forgiveness of our sins, but\n teaches us to love our neighbors? May our Lord grant that we\n turn from the lies of the devil, the world, and our own sinful\n flesh and cling to Christ Jesus as our Redeemer from sin and\n death.
