Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n In the Garden -- Part 4\n Genesis 2:15-17\n 07\/18\/2024\n\n\n 15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the\n garden of Eden to work it and keep it.\n 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, ``You\n may surely eat of every tree of the garden,\n 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil\n you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of\n it you shall surely die.'' (ESV)\n\n God created the heavens and the earth by the creative power\n of His Word alone. He created mankind from the dust of the\n earth, carefully crafting the man, Adam, and breathing into him\n the breath of life.\n\n The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of\n Eden to work it and keep it. And the LORD God\n commanded the man, saying, ``You may surely eat of\n every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the\n knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in\n the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.''\n\n\n Martin Luther wrote about this tree of the knowledge of good\n and evil:\n But it is useful to note also that God gave Adam Word,\n worship, and religion in its barest, purest, and\n simplest form, in which there was nothing laborious,\n nothing elaborate. For He does not prescribe the\n slaughter of oxen, the burning of incense, vows,\n fastings, and other tortures of the body. Only this He\n wants: that he praise God, that he thank Him, that he\n rejoice in the Lord, and that he obey Him by not eating\n from the forbidden tree.[1]\n\n\n May our Lord grant us opportunities to hear His Word, and to\n respond in faith to His rich grace and mercy.
