Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Ten Commandments -- Part 4\n exodus 20:12-17\n 07\/11\/2024\n\n\n 12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days\n may be long in the land that the LORD your God is\n giving you.\n 13 You shall not murder.\n 14 You shall not commit adultery.\n 15 You shall not steal.\n 16 You shall not bear false witness against your\n neighbor.\n 17 You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you\n shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male\n servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his\n donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.\n (ESV)\n\n This week we are looking at the Ten Commandments. God gave\n us His Law for our benefit, so that we look to Him for our help\n in times of trouble, and that we live in harmony with our\n neighbors. We have already heard that we should fear, love, and\n trust in God above all things. If we put Him first, we will\n properly use His name and we will accept His gracious invitation\n to join Him to receive His rich blessings of love, grace, and\n mercy.\n\n Knowing how we should act towards God, how do we act towards\n our neighbor? God tells us to respect authority, to honor life\n and marriage, to protect our neighbor's property and reputation,\n and to be content with the blessings we have received from His\n gracious hands.\n\n Honor your father and your mother, that your days may\n be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving\n you. You shall not murder. You shall not commit\n adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear\n false witness against your neighbor. You shall not\n covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your\n neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female\n servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is\n your neighbor's.\n\n\n Therefore, the Ten Commandments are summarized as love\n towards God and neighbor. If we look first to God for His rich\n blessings, we can then reflect His love towards our family,\n friends, and neighbors. This is a blessing to everyone, given by\n God out of His mercy.\n\n May our Lord guard us from all evil and guide us in His\n love.
