Broadcast<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Who is Like the LORD? -- Part 1\n Micah 7:18\n 06\/17\/2024\n\n\n 18 Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and\n passing over transgression for the remnant of his\n inheritance? He does not retain his anger\n forever, because he delights in steadfast love.\n (ESV)\n\n What is the message of Christianity? Is it a bunch of\n rules, you can't do this, you must do that? If so, it is no\n different than any other religion. What if the message of\n Christianity was something else, something like, ``For the sake\n of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, your sins are\n forgiven.'' That means all the good works are not to earn God's\n love, but are a response to His mercy.\n\n The prophet Micah, who wrote about 700 years before the\n birth of Jesus, declared:\n Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing\n over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance?\n He does not retain his anger forever, because he\n delights in steadfast love.\n\n\n That changes everything. If God pardons iniquity and passes\n over transgression, of what are we afraid? Now we know that God\n demands justice, that there is a payment for each sin. And we\n know that all people have sinned and fallen short of the glory of\n God. So how can God simply pardon iniquity and pass over\n transgression? He can't. Justice had to be served. The one\n innocent Man, the Son of God who took on our human flesh, took\n our punishment.\n\n That is the message we are going to explore this week.\n\n May our Lord grant you His richest blessings, especially the\n gift of faith which trusts completely in Him.
