For I am lost; for I am a\n             man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a\n             people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the\n             King, the LORD of hosts!''  (ESV)\n\n        Isaiah is one of the very few people who has seen a vision\n   of the throne room of heaven.  Along with Saint John, who\n   recorded a similar vision in the last book of the Bible, the\n   prophet and evangelist both heard the song of heaven.  ``Holy,\n   Holy, Holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of His\n   glory!''\n\n        Sinful mankind can not see God and live.  Adam and Eve hid\n   from the LORD as He walked in the garden the evening after they\n   had succumbed to temptation.  Moses was told he could not see the\n   face of God.  Now Isaiah is confronted this the truth, a sinner\n   who sees God is doomed.\n\n        And I said: ``Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man\n        of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people\n        of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the\n        LORD of hosts!''\n\n\n        Isaiah speaks for each one of us.  You and I are also of\n   unclean lips, which reflects our unclean heart and soul.  You and\n   I dwell in the midst of people of unclean lips, of sinners, of\n   ones who rightly are condemned by our sin.  Yet, God is gracious\n   and merciful to Isaiah, even as He is gracious and merciful to\n   all repentant sinners.\n\n        May our Lord grant that in seeing Him we see not His wrath\n   upon sinners, but His love, grace, and mercy as revealed in Jesus\n   Christ.
