(ESV)\n\n        This last Sunday, which is known as ``Cantate Sunday,'' was\n   named for the first verse of Psalm 98, which we used to enter\n   into God's presence at His invitation.  ``O sing to the LORD a\n   new song, for He has done marvelous things.''  The prophet Isaiah\n   told us of the reason for this song, the marvelous things the\n   LORD has done for His people.\n        ``Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will\n        not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my\n        song, and he has become my salvation.''\n\n\n        Certainly for the children of Israel, part of the salvation\n   in which they would rejoice is the restoration of Jerusalem and\n   the Temple.  After seventy years, they returned from Babylon and\n   rebuilt their homeland.\n\n        For the Christina, we rejoice in Jesus, whose name means\n   ``God is my salvation.''  What greater song can we sing than of\n   the grace of God, than of the love of Jesus Christ who willingly\n   took upon Himself our sin?  He indeed is our strength against the\n   assaults of the devil, the world, and our own sinful flesh.  We\n   believe, teach, and confess that our redemption from sin and\n   death is a gift from God, freely given to us for the sake of the\n   bitter suffering and death of Jesus Christ.  In this Easter\n   season, we rejoice and sing God's praise that Jesus burst forth\n   from the tomb, thus assuring us that we, too, shall rise again.\n   There is no better reason to sing, to give glory to God, that by\n   His undeserved love we are given the hope of the resurrection and\n   everlasting life.\n\n        May our Lord bless you with the comfort which comes from\n   knowing His love as found in Christ Jesus.
