And Abraham went and took the ram\n             and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of\n             his son.\n        14   So Abraham called the name of that place, ``The\n             LORD will provide;'' as it is said to this day,\n             ``On the mount of the LORD it shall be provided.''\n             (ESV)\n\n        And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold,\n        behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns.\n        And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as\n        a burnt offering instead of his son.  So Abraham called\n        the name of that place, ``The LORD will provide;'' as\n        it is said to this day, ``On the mount of the LORD it\n        shall be provided.''\n\n\n        The ram was caught in the thorn bush as the branches\n   encircled his head.  Jesus also wore a crown of thorns as He was\n   sacrificed near the site of Isaac's redemption from death.\n\n        During this coming week we will remember our Lord Jesus\n   Christ and His suffering on our behalf.  This coming Sunday marks\n   the day when He rode into Jerusalem to the shouts of the crowds\n   and the waving palm branches.  He rode in, fulfilling Old\n   Testament prophecy, to bear our sins upon the cross.\n\n        Every day this coming week Trinity Lutheran Church will be\n   holding a special service to commemorate our Lord's passion.  On\n   Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we will meet at 9:15 a.m. to\n   listen to the passion accounts from the Gospel writers.  Thursday\n   and Friday evening are services to commemorate Jesus' actions on\n   the night He was betrayed, and to ponder His crucifixion.  These\n   are at 7:00 p.m.\n\n        Please join us for any or all of these services, and for the\n   service on Sunday at 9:00 a.m.\n\n        May our Lord comfort you with the assurance that your sins\n   are forgiven for the sake of the innocent suffering and death of\n   Jesus Christ.
