                    The LORD Will Provide - Part 2\n                            Genesis 22:3-6\n                              03\/19\/2024\n\n\n        3    So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his\n             donkey, and took two of his young men with him,\n             and his son Isaac. And he cut the wood for the\n             burnt offering and arose and went to the place of\n             which God had told him.\n        4    On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and\n             saw the place from afar.\n        5    Then Abraham said to his young men, ``Stay here\n             with the donkey; I and the boy will go over there\n             and worship and come again to you.''\n        6    And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering\n             and laid it on Isaac his son.  And he took in his\n             hand the fire and the knife. So they went both of\n             them together. And he took in his hand the\n        fire and the knife. So they went both of them together.\n\n\n        For three days, Abraham looked upon his son, Isaac, and\n   considered him already dead.  This child of promise, the one\n   through whom the world would be blessed would soon be sacrificed\n   at the command of God.  Imagine the anguish that Abraham felt as\n   he, his servants, and his son traveled the three days to Mount\n   Moriah, the place where, in the future, the Temple in Jerusalem\n   would be built.\n\n        Again we find several parallels between the sacrifice of\n   Isaac and the sacrifice of Jesus.  Abraham mourned the coming\n   death of his son for three days.  Jesus lay three days in the\n   tomb, mourned by those who loved Him.  Both the sacrifice of\n   Isaac and the sacrifice of Jesus were in the area of Jerusalem,\n   the place where God established His holy altar.  Both Isaac and\n   Jesus carried the wood used for their own sacrifice.\n\n        Without complaint, both Isaac and Jesus bore their burdens.\n   Both Isaac and Jesus were commended into the hand of God.  May\n   our Lord show us His love and mercy as we watch the sacrifice of\n   His Son for our redemption.  Amen.<\/code><\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
