The Year in Review - Part 5
                              Psalm 16:10
                              01/02/2026

10 For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let
your holy one see corruption. (ESV)

We are counting down the top truths you have heard in the
Moments of Meditation broadcast in 2025. First on the list, the
Bible is the Word of God. Next, the Law, one of the two great
teachings of the Bible, accuses us of sin so that we may hear the
Gospel. We looked at the Name of Jesus, bestowed upon Him when
He was circumcised. Today we will hear the rest of the story.

Of all of the world's religions, Christianity is the easiest
to disprove. All you need to do is find Jesus' body and
everything we believe, teach, and confess will be shown to be
false. From the moment that the guards at the tomb reported to
the chief priests and Pontius Pilate that Jesus was no longer in
the burial cave, the search for His body began.

The chief priests told the guards to lie. The Sanhedrin,
the rulers of the Jews, tried to silence the apostles and
disciples through imprisonment and death. Kings and emperors and
scientists and the average man on the street tried and failed to
show that Jesus is still dead.

The Psalmist wrote: ``For you will not abandon my soul to
Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption.''

What is true for Jesus is true for you and me. His
resurrection shows that we also will rise from the dead. Yes, it
is an article of faith, something we have not yet seen, but we
have God's promise. His Word is truth, God cannot lie.

Where there is the forgiveness of sins, there is life
everlasting. It is a gift. Join us at Trinity Lutheran Church
at 9:00 each Sunday morning to learn more about God's love.

May our Lord grant you His richest blessings this new year.
   Amen.
