The Son of Man - Part 1
                             Daniel 7:9-10
                              11/18/2024

9 As I looked, thrones were placed, and the Ancient
of days took his seat; his clothing was white as
snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his
throne was fiery flames; its wheels were burning
             fire.
10 A stream of fire issued and came out from before
him; a thousand thousands served him, and ten
thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the
court sat in judgment, and the books were opened.

The focus of the last three weeks of the Church Year is the
coming of Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead.
Although the Church has always confessed the Second Coming, many
people now question this teaching. In so doing, the are
fulfilling the words of Saint Peter, who wrote:
Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in
the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful
desires. They will say, ``Where is the promise of his
coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all
things are continuing as they were from the beginning
        of creation.''[1]

Yet, six hundred years before the birth of Jesus, the
prophet Daniel wrote of his vision of the final judgment.
As I looked, thrones were placed, and the Ancient of
days took his seat; his clothing was white as snow, and
the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was
fiery flames; its wheels were burning fire. A stream
of fire issued and came out from before him; a thousand
thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten
thousand stood before him; the court sat in judgment,
        and the books were opened.

We believe, teach, and confess that the words written by
Daniel, the words written by Peter, and the words spoken by Jesus
are true. There will be an accounting of our faith, which is
   given evidence by our works.

May our Lord give us the wisdom to hear and believe His
Word, that we may have life with Him. Amen.
