Elders’ Retreat — On the Role of Elders in the Church

This retreat is hosted by the Pipestone Circuit of the Minnesota South District (LCMS)
Our presenter is Rev. Timothy Mech.
Rev. Timothy J. Mech has been pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, since 1998. He also served as pastor of Bethel Lutheran Church, DuQuoin, Illinois (1989-1998). He is a graduate of Valparaiso University (BA) and Concordia Seminary, St. Louis (MDiv.).
He is the author of the book, Pastors and Elders: Caring for the Church and One Another, Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis, 2011.
He has led Pastor and Elder retreats throughout the country and taught a class on the book at the Lutheran School of Theology near Nairobi, Kenya.
Pastor Mech is a member of the LCMS Preach the Word committee. He is also a graduate of Doxology, an innovative program of advanced study retreats to strengthen pastors for the task of faithfully shepherding the souls entrusted to their care.
He enjoys sports, traveling, hiking, biking, camping, and brewing his locally famous Pastor’s Best beer. Pastor Mech is married to Darlene, a clinical psychologist, and has two adult children, Joshua (his wife Tori) and Emily.
